AIR
 WHAT IT MEANS
Freedom. The very essence of life itself: You can live without foodfor weeks, without water for a few days, but without air for only afew minutes.Spirit. Since you can’t see it but you can see its powerful effects, air is often given godly status. Wind is the messenger of the gods: The random breeze can bring illumination; the flight of birds spursinspiration; the fury of a storm is divine punishment.Superhuman power. Unlike building dams to hold water, putting water on fire, or molding earth to our plans, we humans find con-trolling the air really difficult.Understanding. We call vague ideas “cloudy,” we bemoan the “fog”of war, we strive for mental “clarity.” In this sense, air is directly connected through vision to insight.
IN HISTORY, MYTH, AND CONTEMPORARY TIMES
Creation myths often begin when a divinity exhales the very cosmos, or breathes life into inanimate objects, transforming theminto living, breathing creatures. Thunder gods and storm gods abound, most of them powerful andfearsome.Prana is the essence of life in many Oriental systems, and its maincarrier is the air, the breath. Most yoga and meditation systemsinvolve control of the breath.Air spirits are sylphs in Greco-Roman mythology.

There are a number of symbols that display our love and devotion to those that have passed away. Religious keepsakes http://www.jewelrykeepsakes.com/Relig... are not only a symbol of faith but also hold a small memorial in honor of the deceased.
