Sports Relief
Bronte School was
transformed into a
centre of sporting
excellence today as we
had ballerinas,
footballers, judo
players, tennis players,
golfers, cheerleaders
and many many other
sports represented by
the children.

Not to be outdone,
many staff also donned
sporting attire
…..………………. perhaps
creating some rich
material for a caption
competition?

Celebration Assembly
There was certainly a sporting
‘theme’ to today’s Celebration
Assembly. Many Year 6 children
received their ‘Bikeability’
certificates, Year 3 and 4 children
received their swimming
certificates and badges and Mr
Johnson presented his termly
progress awards – well done to
Kaelo, Maija, Shaan, Demi, Anjola
and Kai-Zhe.

I was also extremely proud to

present a ‘Chief Scout’s Silver
Award’ to Jack in Year 5, along
with Taekwondo certificates to
Jaya (Y3), Annabel (Y1) and Max
(Y4) (who showed us some rather
scary moves!).

National Inter-School Mathematics Championships

After a rigorous selection process, the Bronte School team has been selected. Very well done to Dominic &
Denis in Year 6, and Indie & Hannah in Year 5. Our team of 4 will take part in an Area Heat of the Inter-
School Mathematics Championships on 8th May at Farringtons School, Chislehurst.

The winning team at each Area Heat, as well as some of the highest scoring second placed teams, will then
be invited to take part in the next round of the championship which takes place during the Summer Term
2018.

The competition runs through three rounds culminating in the National Mathematics Finals which will be at
the Mathematical Institute, Oxford University, during the Summer Term 2018 where the remaining 12
teams from across the country will competefor the title of National Mathematics Champions 2017-18.

All our children in Years 5 and 6 performed extremely well, and I’m sure we all wish our team the very best
of luck.

Charity Fundraising
As part of his Chief Scout’s Silver Award, Brandon
(Y5) baked and sold cakes after Football Club on
Monday. They were very popular and he raised an
amazing £73.20 for the charity ‘Scouts Against
Malaria. Well done Brandon.
