Lesson Plan

Subject : science

Date : 27 Julai 2010

Time : 8.40-9.10 a.m

Class : 4 Teratai

No Of Pupils : 31 Pupils

Topic : Measurement

Student Prior Knowledge :Pupils are able to tell the difference between a cube and a
cuboid. They can identify the length, width and height
of an object .

Learning Outcome :

1. Understand how to identify the volume of a cuboid and

a cube.
2. State that the standard unit for volume in the metric
system.

Teaching And Learning Objective : At the end of this lesson student will be able to:

1. Compare a cube and a cuboid and guess which one has

the bigger volume.
2. State the volume = length x width x height
3. State the standard unit for volume of solids in the
metric system which are cubic centimeter (cm3), cubic
millimeter (mm3) and cubic metre (m3).
4. Calculate the volumes of cubes and cuboids based on
the measurements taken in standard units.

Science Process Skills :

1. Measuring and using numbers

2. Observing

Manipulative skill :

1. Handle apparatus correctly.

Thingking Skills :
1. Attributing
2. Comparing and contrasting

Noble Values :

1. Pupils need to be honest and accurate in recording the

measurements of volume.

Teaching Aids : ruler, scissor, paper, glue, drink boxes, laptop, video and
projector.
