CUPERTINO
– Meg Whitman today announced the endorsement of Paul Rodriguez, a pioneering
Latino entertainer who has a deep commitment to improving the lives of Latinos in the Central
Valley and around California. Rodriguez has been named one of the most influential Hispanics in
America.

Rodriguez was raised in East Los Angeles and is revered as one of the first Latin Kings of Comedy.
In addition to his entertainment career, he chairs the California Latino Water Coalition and is
involved in Central Valley civic, philanthropic and educational efforts, and he was recently honored
with the Humanitarian of the Year Award by the City of Fresno.

"I am so grateful for Paul's endorsement. His dedication to improving the lives of Central Valley
residents and small businesses is so inspiring,'' Whitman said. "I am awed by his deep commitment
to give back to the region. Paul Rodriguez truly is a California success story that makes all of us
proud."

"I find Meg Whitman to be a fresh, independent thinking candidate who is committed to what we
care about most: jobs and education. Without jobs and good schools, Californians' futures are
limited," Rodriguez said.

"Meg has a real, specific plan to help the Central Valley and all of California overcome its big
challenges. She has spent enormous time and energy to introduce herself and her plan to California
Latinos. Meg is the only candidate who can lead California to better days."

Rodriguez is a strong advocate for Latino small business owners and those working in the
agriculture industry. As a leader of the California Latino Water Coalition, Rodriquez has fought to
keep Central Valley businesses and communities viable by working for solutions to the region's
water crisis.

Rodriguez has been a major force in entertainment and the world of comedy for more than 25
years, with starring roles and featured appearances in over 40 films and countless television and
comedy specials. Voted one of the most influential Hispanics in America and awarded the Ruben
Salazar Award by The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), Rodriguez has remained involved with
various charitable, civic and educational organizations throughout his career, including the Hispanic
Scholarship Fund. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he has made several visits to Iraq to
entertain the combat troops. As a recent appointee to the California Film Commission, Rodriguez is
working to secure jobs by having film production remain in California.
