Following the interval, our special guest Randolph Matthews entertained the crowd with some Jazz
singing including audience participation, before encouraging our children to find their talent and keep
practicing at it.
It was clear that our children have many hidden talents and showed confidence to step beyond their
comfort zones before a live audience. The event was truly memorable, and as one of the judges, Mr
Rockall, commented: "you are all my favourites!"
Judging the competition was very difficult because all of the children showed either skill or courage in
getting to the final. Our congratulations go to our three prize winners on the night - in reverse order,
Abisola, Verity and Karimah, who will now go on to perform at this year's Bronte Festival at Cobham Hall.
Incredibly well done!

Year 4 Trip
This week Year 4 went for a
walk around their local area,
as part of their Geography
topic. They saw some
interesting landmarks and
learnt some fascinating facts
about Gravesend. Like always
the children from Bronte
school behaved impeccably
and were a credit to the
school. Make sure you ask
Year 4 what they saw and
what they now know.
Environmental Poem
Monday morning's assembly celebrated the poetry and prose of
some of our children who had responded to the challenge of writing
a piece based upon caring for the environment.
Our school-wide PSHE theme for this term is 'Living in the wider
world', which incorporates the impact we are having upon our
climate. Attention had already been drawn to this issue via the Year
5 Class Assembly which focussed upon single used plastics and our
Pupil Parliament's Silly Sox Day which drew attention to recycling
paper within school..
Chosen by their class teachers, the readers showed skill and passion
as they presented their work on the stage, causing us to change our
habits and improve our care for the earth. It was a challenging
assembly and reflected an issue about which Bronte children feel
passionate.
