Introduction

Blue Tooth is short range RF technology which

is capable of transmitting voice & data.

Effective range is 10 to 100 m

It is name behind the 10th century king of Denmark Harald Blaatand

who unified Denmark and Norway. Same way this technology aimed
at unifying the telecom and computing industries.

Blue Tooth SIG (special interest group) which is an

organization to setup and maintain the standards of the
technology. The founding companies of SIG are –
1-Ericssion
2-Intel
3-IBM
4-Nokia
5-Toshiba

Applications:

It connects all our office peripherals wirelessly.

By installing a B.T. network in office you can do away with the complex and
tedious task of networking between the computing devices.

Bluetooth allows us to have three way phone.

In meetings and conferences you can transfer selected documents instantly

with selected participants and exchange electronic business cards
automatically ,without any wired connections.

Automatic message delivery.

The speaking laptop.

The instant postcard.

Applications:
Comparison of BT with IrDA

Feature IrDA Tech. Bluetooth Tech.

Connection Line of sight Penetrates obstacles
establishment
Data rate 4Mbps 1Mbps

Range 1m 10-100m

Power consumption 10 mW 100mW

Advantages

1.Enables devices to communicate seamlessly without wires.

2.It is provision for both voice and data communication.

3.It can penetrate solid objects so no line of sight is required.

4.Bluetooth chips have lower power consumption less drain on battery.

5.In the RF interference is reduced and provides a degree of security due to use
the use of FHSS.

6.Can be used anywhere in the world.

Conclusion:

“Bluetooth ,way to become wireless”
