The needs of the state have often been those of the political or
administrative elite, who tend to pursue only the latest technologies
and equipment. As a result, the maintenance, management, and the
products themselves are apt to be inferior, yet expensive. This can be
expected because the elite lack the required expertise and alertness to
the aforementioned three elements of technology control.
Knowledge Management
It also provides a powerful way of looking at the way the society
organizes itself and uses its intellectual resources and promises a means
of humanizing our approach to modern technology, putting the
understanding of human intellectual and motivation at the centre.
Learning Organization
McGill et al. (1992) define the Learning Organization as “a company that
can respond to new information by altering the very “programming” by
which information is processed and evaluated.”
With the advent of new and new technologies day by day Learning
Organizations are increasing which have high probability of surviving
and accumulating the wealth of the firms which in turn contributes to the
wealth of nations.
Functional Vs Matrix Organizations
In the first sentence of “The Wealth of Nations” (1776), Adam Smith
foresaw the essence of industrialism by determining that division of labor
represents a qualitative increase in productivity. With the advent of modern
technologies, concept of division of labour is fading away and functional
organizations are redesigning themselves into matrix form of organizations.
