Annual Report Data 2006
Each year, ACCME accredited providers submit an Annual Report form that contains information abouttheir CME program, including the number and type of activities provided, hours of instruction presented, numbers of physician and non-physician participants, as well as some financial information. Accreditedproviders submitted their 2006 Annual Report forms via a secure website. All reports were due on March30, 2007.The information published herein is based upon self-reporting by individual accredited providerorganizations. The accuracy and relevancy of the individual responses may vary depending on theproviders’ interpretation of questions and categorization of activity formats. Although ACCME strives toobtain data that are consistent with its terms and definitions, full verification of the accuracy of all reportedinformation lies outside the scope of this data collection. The educational activity formats on whichreporting has been initiated recently may be especially subject to variance in interpretation. Theseactivity formats are indicated by an asterisk (*) in Table 1.The following tables and charts present the aggregated results of the submitted 2006 Annual Reports.Table 1: Size of the CME Enterprise Presented by ACCME Accredited ProvidersTable 2: Activities by Organization and Activity TypeTable 3: Hours of Instruction by Organization and Activity TypeTable 4: Physician Participants by Organization and Activity TypeTable 5: Non-Physician Participants by Organization and Activity TypeTable 6: Income and Expense for All ACCME Accredited ProvidersTable 7: Income and Expense by Organization TypeTable 8: Size of the CME Enterprise Presented by State Medical Society-Accredited ProvidersTable 9: Accreditation DecisionsTable 10: Summary of Compliance with the Essential Areas and ElementsACCME Terms, Definitions and DescriptorsSample Annual Report FormFor those interested in comparisons with previous years’ data, the Annual Report Data for the years1998-2005 have been posted to the ACCME web site (www.accme.org).
