I Formation

Coach Jeff Teed 1995

We run our base offense out of the I Formation. Reason for this is most teams spread the
defense to prevent the offense from getting out side. When they do this, we run the
middle. When they tighten their defense, we run the sweeps and pitches. In youth
football, if you can run the ball, you will win games.

We run most of our offense from the formation above. We call it Power Right I. From
this we can run dives, blasts, counters, pitches, reverses, sweeps all with a lead block.

Here are a few of our plays. They can be run with the Power Left I formation by moving
the TE to the left side of formation.
