1.

The first image is a cutaway of six Vogue magazines being thrown in one at a
time. Vogue magazine is a very renowned and popular fashion magazine,
which is the reason why we decided to use it. By using it as a cutaway refers
to our subject matter (Fashion Tribes), and connotes to the audience what the
narrative behined our documentary is.

2. The second image is a medium closeup of one of the interviewees we had

used. We decided to use a fashion teacher, as she represents the genre of our
documentary. She  is dressed up in bright pink and has her unique style of
dress sense, which goes back to the main topic  “fashion tribes”, as she is
involved in her own trend.

3. This image is of another cutaway. We took this cutaway in central london,

where we found people walking with variety of fashion styles. This is captured
and shows all sorts of dress codes such as: preppy, classic, urban, formal,
rock, bohemian etc. It adds to some of the questions we have asked in our
documentaries, about if people are stereotyped into society.
4. This image is of another interview we had done. By using a male student to
interview, shows that we don’t convey any gender sterotypes in our
documentary, and that it is aimed at both genders. In this shot we also have a
display of fashion props behined male interviewee, to present the fashion
subject.

5. The fifth cutaway is a collage of three magazine articles. These three articles
would make our documentary seem much more realistic as we have simular
research to our topic. It also makes our documentary seem more interesting
and intruiging to watch because we are throwing a whole range of information.

6. Throughout our whole documentary we used a voiceover where the cutaways

were used. Rather that having music playing or just a visual of information, by
having someone talking at the background would capture our audiences
attention and not make it borin, instead interactive. The voice over is of a
woman. We used a woman because most documentaries use a male voice, so
by having a woman would give it a new twist.

7. We used a female student. The significance of using a student is that because

she is young and at a age where people adapt diferent fashion trends, we
would be able to see her opinion on different fashion tribes. As well as using a
male interviewee, we used a female one so that we could show both genders.
8. Throughout the documentary we have used the theme of orange and black.
These colours do not dominate any gender stereotypes so makes it neutral for
both genders to watch. The black and orange have been used for any type of
text, weather it being the statisticts or the names of our interviewees, by
sticking to just two colours, would make it a continuous technique, rather than
having so many colours which would be a continuinity error.

9. This is a screen shot of a magazine we have used. At this part of the

documentary we have a slideshow of different magazines, as editor i had to
produce something that would show different kind of fashion trends, so by
having different type of magazines, would make it clearer what we are trying to
portray.

10. I decided to use non diegetic music at the background, this is so it gives the
documentary a dramatic, the music i have used is very fun and lively, this
goes with the topic. Fashion.
