Used Automotive Oil Heats Up the

Public Works Maintenance Facility
The sanitation division has a motor oil collection site located at the City Recycling
Center. The oil collected is reused to heat two buildings located at the Public Works
Maintenance Facility. Each year, our collection site receives about 4,000 gallons of
used motor oil. This in turn means lower costs to heat buildings and reuse of used
motor oil. If you have motor oil that you need to dispose of, you can bring it by the
City Recycling Center — in non-opaque containers, (gallon milk jugs). No chemicals
please. The collection site is open six days a week: Monday–Wednesday from 8:30
a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday–Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Just bring your
