O At independence Pakistan possesed three radio stations at

Dhaka,Lahore and Peshawar
O In 1948 two radio stations formed at Karachi and
Rawalpindi
O New broadcasting house was build at karachi in 1950
O New radio stations in Hyderabad and Quetta were build in
1951 and 1956
O ÷econd radio station was build at Rawalpindi in 1960
O In 1998 radio pakistan started its first FM transmission

O In 1963 GOP felt the need of electronic media

O The first TV station went on air on 26th Nov 1964
O Till 1990 electronic media remained in the government
control
O Free electronic media was brought in the country in
the regime of Ex-president General Pervaiz

presenting sub-standard programs and news in a
sensationalized manner.
O unfortunately our media is negating every norm of civilized
society and only those people are selected news casters in
our media who can sensationalize any situation and can yell
instead of communicate.
O Pakistani media in present is looking less inclined towards
professional journalism
O every single news is categorized a breaking news, and every
single activity political or social is portrayed as the issue of
whole nation.
O type of culture Talk shows promoted in simple words is
÷enseless Arguing, trying to prove oneself right at any cost
no matter if every body knows that you are wrong,
O Anchor persons tries to put words in the mouth of there participants,
guests or political personalities plus interrupting them when they are
talking and shouting at them, which gives an impression of Fish market
instead of a decent talk show

O anchors are top emotional black mailers who use their viewers
sentiments to create a verbal battle
O PEMRA today as a body of government officials have µassaulted¶ the
rights of people by restricting foreign media. Thus resulting in our
dependence on whatever the local media manufactures; be it mud or

O renowned journalist Mr I A Rehman, who also serves as the ÷ecretary

General of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) said

through thick files of all that happened in the past fifty
years in that area. Today no newspaper, except one, has a
reference section to rely on. Newspapers are creating and
selling campaigns which linger on far beyond public
interest.´

majority so for them its really a time to be honest with there
profession, because if we want a good nation and a good youth
having positive approach, enthusiastic about there carriers and
passionate about serving there country we need to promote
positive thinking and culture of tolerance, and media particularly
news channels is the best way to create this change, because in
this country we have more news channels than any other
entertainment channels.so people watch what they have. this
increases the responsibility of media even more.

contributing its efforts in bringing a positive change and by
behaving responsibly.
