The annual Invitational Film Show, a presentation of outstanding New School student films, is the
inaugural event of the annual Dorothy H. Hirshon Film Festival, which will take place Friday, April
1, 2011.

Please complete and submit this form with your film(s). Eligibility requirements are below.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Please note that eligible submissions for this show include only the following:
• Works created for the Bachelorʼs Program Film Production courses
• Works created for the graduate Focus Area in Film Form
• 16mm projects done either for Independent Production credit or for MA Thesis
Students who fall into these categories are invited to submit no more than two films for
consideration. These works should have been made sometime over the past four semesters. The
film cannot exceed 15 minutes in length. Each entry must include the end credit “Made in
Cooperation with The New School.”

Your application package should include: (a) the Application form, (b) an attachment with a short
filmmakerʼs bio and a brief description of your submission(s) which will be used in the program
catalog if your work is selected, and (c) a disc with your work saved as a high resolution file.

These materials can be dropped off either at the Media Studies and Film Offices at 70 5 Avenue,

12 floor, room 1216, or the Film Production Office, 66 5 Avenue, 4 floor.

Finalists will be notified by Friday, March 11, 2011. Invited works will be screened from a hi-res
digital file or, if available, from a 16mm print. Questions about the application form or procedures
