RE: Lamppost Reservation Guidelines

1. Sign-ups are to be done in a FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVED basis.

2. Candidates/Parties/Coalitions may only sign up AFTER their Campaign Plan Proposal and design
is approved. They may bring a hard copy of their design to be approved on the spot.
a. NOTE: They are already allowed to print the tarps once the design is approved
3. They must come to the Ops Room and make their request, a COMELEC core member will check
availability in the sign-up sheet. If the slot is available, the reservation will be logged; if it is not
available, the requesting party will be asked to choose another slot.
a. Independent candidates for Top 4 may sign up for a maximum of two (2) slots.
Candidates may not sign up for two consecutive “slots” in the same lamppost. They may
sign up for two consecutive “slots” in different lampposts. For example, they cannot sign
up for lamppost 51A for two 3-day periods, but they can choose either get 51A for the first
period and 39B for the second OR get both 51A and 39B in the same 3-day period.
b. Independent candidates for School Chair, Secretary-Treasurer, Central Board
Representative, and Executive Officer may sign up for a maximum of one (1) slot.
c. Political Parties may sign up for a maximum of two (4) slots.
d. Coalitions may sign up for a maximum of two (2) slots.
e. NOTE: aforementioned restrictions to independent candidates do not apply to those
running under a coalition or political party.
4. Before hanging the tarp, candidates/coalitions/parties must bring the tarp to the ops room for
logging. The COMELEC member will affix his/her signature at the back of the tarp and indicate
the date and location of the reservation.
5. Candidates/Parties/Coalitions are expected to put down their own tarps as courtesy to others.
Candidates/Parties/Coalitions are permitted to take down the tarps occupying the lamppost
before them as long as they leave the tarp in the Ops Room afterwards.
