Penduduk yang Dimuliakan,
Sejak lima tahun yang lalu, kita telah
menumpukan perhatian kepada dua
perkara penting dalam mengeratkan
silaturahim anggota masyarakat dan
memperbaiki kehidupan di Bukit Batok
East (BBE).
Pertama, kita telah menumpukan
perhatian kepada perkakasan dengan
memperbaiki infrastruktur. Hampir 100
peratus daripada blok-blok flat di Bukit
Batok East yang layak untuk Program
Peningkatan Lif, telah selesai menjalani
peningkatan atau dalam pelbagai
tahap untuk diselesaikan. Kita juga sudah
hampir 100 menyiapkan projek laluan
bebas halangan di BBE, supaya warga
emas dan penduduk kita yang kurang
upaya serta ibu dengan anak-anak
kecil boleh bergerak dengan bebas. Ini,
bersama dengan banyak lagi projek lain
seperti laluan penghubung berbumbung
sedang dilaksanakan di seluruh BBE,
menyediakan faedah harian yang
praktikal kepada penduduk kita. Melihat

tuisyen, sebagai tambahan kepada bantuan kewangan dan
peruntukan makanan setiap bulan. Semasa lawatan mingguan
saya dari rumah ke rumah dan pelbagai majlis blok dan tingkat
yang dianjurkan, saya telah berpeluang untuk menemui ramai
penduduk yang memberi saya maklum balas yang bernilai.

700 grassroots leaders and residents bustled
around the hall, and immersed themselves in
the festive spirit of Lunar New Year with food,
song and dance. Guest-of-Honour Mdm
Halimah Yacob expressed her heartfelt thanks
to all the residents as well as volunteers for
their continuous support and hard work in Bukit
Batok East.

residents woke up early in the morning and
gathered at the BBE U-Square for the Senior
Citizens’ Sports Day.

The same group of residents with their

families turned up for the Senior Citizens’
Week cum Birthday Celebration Dinner.
Mdm Halimah Yacob gave out red eggs
and cakes to all the senior residents.

at the Pavilion. It was a great dinner and bingo games
