Writing Personified

When thinking about writing, it is really hard for me to think of something that I could

compare it to. Personally I really dislike writing. I cannot think of many things that I dislike as

much as I do writing. I am going to personify writing as much as I can.

If writing were to be an entity, it would most defiantly be grey. Grey is not technically a

color, but rather a shade. Grey to me is the most plain, and boring of all colors. Writing would

also not have a very strong smell, but it would defiantly not smell good. It would have a bad

smell because I really do not like doing it, but It would not be too strong because writing does

not make me uncomfortable. I don’t think I am a very bad writer, but I still cannot stand doing it.

One thing that I could compare writing to is walking in the rain. When you’re out

walking in the rain it sucks. You’re usually cold, and not happy. When I am writing, I am rarely

ever happy and the atmosphere is usually cold. Also when you have to walk in the rain, it is

usually inevitable. A lot of the time when you are walking in the rain you are stuck somewhere

and you have to get somewhere else. This is similar to writing because usually when I have to

write it is something that I have to do but I really do not want to do.

Another way that writing is similar to walking in the rain is when you are walking in the

rain, I often do not prepare myself how I should before I do it. I often don’t put on enough warm

clothes so I am cold, along with being wet. When I am writing, a lot of the time I forget to plan

what I am going to write before I write it. I often just jump into the paper head first trying to

finish it as fast as I possibly can.

Finally, when you are walking in the rain you are mad, but when you get back inside you

sometimes realize that it was not as bad as you thought it was going to be. I have had writing

assignments before that I thought were going to be terrible but once I finished them I actually

enjoyed writing them.

In conclusion I think describing writing as an entity is a lot easier that I originally

thought. Writing is a process that compares to many common life practices.
