Costa Rica!!!!!
We have arrived in the beautiful country of Costa Rica for language school! Wow, what a whirlwind of events leading
up to our arrival. Thank you again for all of the interceding prayers for Evangeline. Eve was released from the hospital
on March 31. We finished up deputation with three meetings after her release. Eve had two doctors appointments
before we left - one with her pediatrician and the other with a pulmonologist (lung
doctor). They both cleared her to leave for Costa Rica, and the pulmonologist said
her lungs sound “perfect”. What an AMAZING blessing!

Amidst all of this, I was studying for my ordination. On April 13, a group of godly
men and pastors took time out of their busy schedules to question me on biblical
doctrines and issues. I enjoyed it immensely, and it was a great experience of growth
and confirmation. That night, Fostoria Baptist Church ordained me for the ministry.
Suz’s dad, CLAIM missionary-Phil Smith, preached a great encouraging message to
me and the church.

We then sold some of our belongings, stored our keep sakes, cleaned and painted
our apartment, and packed up the rest of our belongings into ten suitcases (it took a
little longer than it sounds).

Easter Sunday night was our commissioning service. Our home/sending church
made us feel very loved as they sent us out to duplicate themselves. Thirty-two
Joc drinking out of a coconut!
hours later, we were on a flight headed towards Costa Rica to start language
school...which is where we find ourselves now for one full year!

- The girls to adjust well to school (Eve’s teacher
only speaks Español)
