On the play, Revis fielded the punt on a bounce, cut all the way across the field and then weaved through several potential tacklers up the sideline to reach the end zone. He became the first Pittsburgh cornerback to be selected first-team All-Conference twice since former Jet and Steeler Hank Poteat accomplished the feat in 1998 and 1999. CHARTERED TERRITORY
Sundays game against the Steelers will mark the fifth AFC Conference Championship game for DL Trevor Pryce, one short of the record for active players (six by LB Mike Vrabel). He appeared in the AFC Championship game his first two seasons in the league (1997-98) as a member of the Denver Broncos, again with the Broncos in 2005 and then with the Baltimore Ravens in 2008. Pryce holds a 2-2 record in Conference Championship games, winning each of the Super Bowls he advanced to. Perhaps even more remarkable then the number of Conference Championship games in which he has appeared, is Pryces opponents in those game. He has faced just two teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers (1997, 2005 & 2008) and the New York Jets (1998), the same two clubs that will be on the field in Sundays contest.

REX RYAN
DEFENSE = RYAN
Like most sons, Rex Ryan always knew he wanted to be in the family business. For the Ryans, the family business is stifling defense. In 1985, his father, Buddy Ryan, led what is widely considered to be the best defense in NFL history. Known simply as the 85 Bears, Buddys unit allowed 12.6 points a game. For the season, they allowed 20 touchdowns (9 rushing, 10 passing and 1 on a return). Rex has been a part of some of the NFLs best defenses himself. In 2000, he served as the defensive line coach for a Baltimore Ravens team that allowed an NFLs best 10.3 points a game. In 16 games, the 2000 Ravens allowed 18 touchdowns (5 rushing, 11 passing and 2 on returns). As a defensive coordinator in 2006, Rex matched his fathers 1985 feat allowing 12.6 points a game with the Ravens. Rexs 2006 team led the NFL in 11 categories: yards per game (264.1), yards per play (4.51), rushing yard per game (75.9), rushing yards per play (3.31), interception rate (5.5%), sacks per pass attempt (11.79%), first downs per game (14.8), third-down conversions allowed (28.9%), red zone pct. (33.3%) and points allowed a game (12.6). In 2009, Rex returned the family business to the Jets, where his father earned his first NFL job. Rex took a defense that ranked 10th in scoring for the 2008 season to the top of the NFL rankings in seven catergories: yards per game (252.3), yards per play (4.24), passing yards a game (153.7), passing yards per play (4.91), first downs allowed (14.8), thirddown conversions allowed (31.5%) and points allowed (14.8).

MOORE SCHOOL
Did you know that Jets G Brandon Moore spent a portion of his offseason learning from some of the brightest minds at Harvard? Moore took part in the NFLs Business Management and Entrepreneurial Program at the Harvard Business School. Moore and 70 other NFL players crammed a semesters worth of classes into a week-long overview program. The players learned a few fundamentals of the business world, while brainstorming entrepreneurial endeavors and listening to guest speakers. Moore doesnt intend on hanging up his pads quite yet, but he knows many former NFL players struggle after their playing days and wants to be prepared for the future. I was asked if going to the Harvard seminar meant I was going to be retiring and opening a restaurant this year, Moore wrote in a blog on NewYorkJets.com. No, no, no. Ive got a bit more mileage on me. You get so locked into being a football player and into thinking football is the only competitive venue out there. I dont think Ill be getting the thrill I get run22

TRULY SPECIAL TEAMS KICKIN IT WITH FOLK
Nick Folk, a former sixth-round pick by the Dallas Cowboys in 2007, made the Pro Bowl his rookie year after finishing fourth in the NFL in points with 131. In 2010, Folk has scored 127 points, connecting on 30-of-39 field goal attempts with a long of 56 yards. In Week Six at DEN, Folk set a new career high and franchise record when he converted a 56-yard field goal. A week earlier on Monday Night Football (10/11 vs. MIN), Folk set a new single-game career high, when he connected on all five of his field goal attempts vs. MIN (10/11). Additionally, he has made all 37 of his PAT attempts. His 30 made field goals in 2010 tie him for the third most in a single season in Jets history with Jay Feely, who did it in 2009. him fourth on the team. The spectacular came on his two special teams touchdowns, the teams only two special teams scores last season. He scored the Jets first special teams touchdown when he picked up an Eric Smith blocked punt and walked in for a touchdown, and he scored again after racing 106 yards with the second-half kickoff against the Indianapolis Colts in a must-win game in week 16. In 2010, Smith has proven to be a game-changer. For the season he has has thrown a touchdown, recorded two kickoff returns for touchdowns (97 at PIT 12/19 and 89 vs. CIN 11/25) and registered a 53-yard touchdown run. ONLY BRAD
WR Brad Smith is the only player in the modern era (since 1933) to have scored touchdowns in each of the following ways: Receiving (2), Rushing (2), Kickoff Return (3), Blocked Punt Return (1) and Passing (1) In Week 14, Smith returned the opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown. It was the first time the Jets opened a game with a kickoff return for a touchdown since Leon Washington returned a kick 86 yards for a score against WAS (11/4/07) In Week 12, Smith became the third player in NFL history with an 80-plus yard KOR for a touchdown and 50-plus yard rush for a touchdown in the same game after he scored on a 53-yard run and an 89-yard kickoff return. The only other players to accomplish the feat are Brian Mitchell (2000) and Dominic Rhodes (2001). For the season Smith finished with 38 rushes for 299 yards and one touchdown. He also caught four passes for 44 yards.
SMITH BLOCKS IT
Eric Smith has become an invaluable member of Mike Westhoffs special teams unit, ranking second on the team with 25 special teams tackles in 2009. But just like Brad Smith, Eric Smith is also called upon for a big play from time to time. For the second time in two seasons, Eric Smith blocked a punt attempt when he got to Brandon Fields in the third quarter at MIA (9/26/10), allowing the Jets to take over possesion at the Miami 17-yard line. Smiths first blocked punt came last season when he blocked a Chris Hanson punt that Brad Smith scooped up for a fouryard touchdown at NE (11/22/10). Smith also blocked a Matt Dodge punt in the preseason against the Giants (8/16/10).
STEVE WEATHERFORD
P Steve Weatherford tied an NFL season record, placing 42 punts inside of the opponents 20. In Week 15, he placed three punts inside of the Steelers 10yard line, two inside of the five. On his third punt of the day, Weatherfords punt was downed by CB Marquice Cole at the Steelers three-yard line. On Pittsburghs ensuing play, LB Jason Taylor tackled RB Mewelde Moore in the end zone for a safety. The score put the Jets ahead 22-17. With the game still in reach, Weatherford placed his fourth and final punt of the day on the Steelers eight-yard line, forcing Pittsburgh to drive 92 yards for the go-ahead score. The Jets defense held the Steelers offense to 82 yards on that final drive and preserved the Jets 22-17 victory. 39
