Dealingwithyeastandconstantstrippingputsalotofwearandtearonyourdiapersandcancausethemto breakdownprematurely.ToextendthelifeofyourniceexpensivediapersIsuggestthatyoupurchase anywherefrom1224(dependingonheavywedng,andwashingfrequency)simplecomonats(preferred) orprefolds(nobadngtoavoidunneccessarybulk)andafewsimplecoverssuchasProwraps,Econobumsor evenvinylpullonGerberpants.Theseshouldbeintheirownstoragecontainerorbasketseparatefrom yourotherdiapers.Iwouldconsidertheseyeastorbadrashdiapers Thisyeast/rashstashcanbetreatedquicklybyusinghotwaterandbleachorapplecidervinegaranddried onhotorsunnedandyouwon'thavetoworryaboutruiningthem.Naturalbersholdupreallywelland sincetheseare'cheap'prefolds/atsthatonlycostanaverageof$1$2eachevenifyoudidgetafewthat brokedowntheyareeasilyreplacedwithoutmuchofaninvestment.Youcouldndcheapprefolds/atson www.diaperswappers.com,www.nickisdiapers.com(intheusedsecHon),www.diaperseconds.com, www.comonbabies.com(clearancesecHon),www.jilliansdrawers.com(usedsecHon). IftheinfecteddiapershavebeenstoredinbasketsorplasHcbins,containers,etcpleasetaketheHmeto makeasoluHonof1gallonwater1/4cupbleachandwipeoutthebinsandallowtoairdry.Thiswillhelp todisinfectyourstorageareasothatyoudon'taccidentallyreinfectyourfreshlydeyeasteddiapers.

NEWADDITION: AfewmonthsbackIhadamomfriendthatwashavingtroublesHllwithgedngridoftheyeast.Shewasa pocketuserandjustcouldntkicktheproblem.Shealsoisinofthoseareaswhereitsnotverysunnyand whenitissunnyitsnotagood,hotsunforseveralhours.Sosunningisntaverysuccessfulmethod. Iponderedonthisforawhilebecauseshedidnotwanttodoanythingtoruinherdiaperssinceshewould becompletelyunabletoreplacethem.Thatmeantbleachwasout,vinegarwasout.Thosethingscanruin thelaminaHonandtheelasHc.Ineededtondsomethingthatwouldworkforherthatshehadntalready triedandthatwasntgoingtoruinherdiapersorgivehersomesortofhorriblebuildupthatwouldtakea fewstrippingstogetridof.Theonlythingthatkeptrunningthroughmymindwastotreattheeeceofthe pocketwithsomesortofanHfungalmedicine.Creams/Ointmentswereoutforsurebecausetheywould causemajorbuildupandpossiblybadstaining.Iwasabitwearyabouttheliquidathletesfootsprayssince theyareabitoily.IntheendIsnaggedmyselfacanofLotriminathletesfootpowderspray.Isprayediton myhandsandwaitedtoseeifitle]anysortofoilyresidue.Nope.Isprayeditononeofmynotsofave pocketdiapers.Didntseemtocauseanyissues.IwasheditandnoHcedthatithadabitofrepellingabit soItookafewdropsofblueDawndishsoapgottheeecewetandworkedthedishsoapthroughtheeece forabout5minsthenIwasheditonwarm.Diapercameoutworkingperfectly.IsHllusethisdiaperand havenothadanyissueswithit.PleasenotethatIonlysprayedtheeeceandIsprayeditliberally.Iputa papertowelinsideofthepockettobeabitofabarrierforthePULandIsprayedtheeeceheavilywiththe powderspray. OnceIwassurethatthismethodcouldbeusedandwouldnotcausepermanentdamagetothediaperI suggestedittoher.Thatnightshewentoutandgrabbed2cansanddidallofherpockets.Shele]itonher diapersforafull24hoursandthenthrewtheminthewasher.Shedidacoldrinsersttogetthemajority

ofthepowderoutofthediapers.Thenshedidahotwashwith1tspofDawn(sheisatoploader,cutthat inhalfifyouuseanHEmachine.)anddidastrip.TheycameoutworkingperfectlyandNOMOREyeast trouble! ALITTLETIP: Iranacrossanissuewhereayeastrashdevelopedwithafriendonlyonahandfulofherdiapers.A]er muchpryingandponderingitwasdiscoveredthatthediapersthatwereinfectedwiththeyeastwerethe diapersthatshehadsoakedinthebathtub.Seemsoddright?Wecouldntunderstandthisbutthenit dawnedonmethatIhadafriendthatwouldgetayeastinfecHoneveryHmeshetookabathathome.She couldtakebathsatmyhouse,afewHmeswhenwetraveledandstayedinahotel,butnotathome.Well herfatherhadAthletesfoot.SomehowitseemsthathisAthletesFootfungusremainedonthebomomof thetubandwhenshewouldbatheshewouldactuallybeinfecHngherselfanditwouldcauseayeast infecHon.TurnsoutmymomfriendsDHhasAthletesFootaswellandwebelievethatthereasonthe diapersthatweresoakedinthetubendedupinfectedwithyeastisbecauseofhisAthletesFoot.
