BRIEF OF INTERVIEWS

Kexin Wang July 2, 2011

I made interviews to three of my former superiors in USTC E-Business Technology Co., Ltd. Dr. Yongdong Dong, Mr. Guangde Xu and Mr. Wansheng Kong on July 02, 2011. Through telephone and MSN, they shared their thoughts about influence and negotiation skills with me.

Although expressing in different ways, one conclusion can be drawn from opinions of these three interviewees: Influence is the one of the most crucial factors that would benefit both personal career and business performance. Dr. Dong even emphasize that influence is the essential of leadership and business management. Mostly, people with better influence among others are more capable of a management position.

Judging from the interviews, good salesmen usually have better skills of negotiation, which help them to be more effective and efficient in business and have better career performance. Taking Mr. Kong as an example, he himself is a man of negotiation; he knows how to make people feel comfortable when talking to them. He became the best customer manager in the company and acquired the position of Director of Business Department.

When asked about business ethics dilemmas, three interviewees answers went diverse. Dr. Dong mentioned about people with power and influence are sometimes arrogant and not easy to get

along with. So a person with power and influence should always stay humble and polite in the business world. Mr. Kong had a story of a long and difficult business negotiation with a Japanese business counterpart. He pointed out that business negotiation needs great patience and communication skills.
