    LT 3.8: Rewrite equations and formulas to solve for a variable.

    As we start to graph lines in Chapter 4, its going to become important to be able to move an equation around so that it is in the form ___________________________________. Were going to call this:

    Example 1. Solve for y. a. 3x + y = 8 b. 5x + 4y = 20 c. 6x 4y = 12

    Whats a formula?

    Example 2. Solve for the indicated variable. a. A = bh; solve for h b. P = 2L + 2W; solve for w c. C = (F 32)
