MouseKeys

Introduction
MouseKeys is an accessibility feature which allows you to use the numeric keypad to
control the mouse pointer.

Using MouseKeys

o Go to Start > Control Panel and select


Accessibility Options.
o Select the MouseKeys tab and click the Use
MouseKeys checkbox (see figure 1).
o The Settings button, as seen in figure 2,
allows you to alter the speed and
acceleration of the pointer, use a keyboard
shortcut to turn MouseKeys on and off and
use the NumLock key to turn MouseKeys on
and off.

o The icon is displayed in the system tray


when MouseKeys is enabled.
o Figure 3 shows the numeric keypad and the
mouse functions assigned to each key when Figure 1 – Select MouseKeys Option
MouseKeys is enabled.
o To disable MouseKeys, go to Start > Control Panel > Accessibility Options, select the
Mouse tab and uncheck the Use MouseKeys checkbox. Alternatively use the keyboard
shortcut (ALT + left SHIFT + NUM LOCK).
