Just Jumpin
Jump Rope Team to Perform Nov. 2
Just Jumpin, a competitive anddemonstrative jump rope team, willperform at Draper Elementary onWednesday, Nov. 2. The team issponsored by LiVe, an IntermountainHealthcare fitness and healthprogram. The team will perform fun jump rope routines and teach thekids new jump rope skills. They will also be selling jump ropes to studentsthat day. Every jump rope purchased gives our school $1 back toward thecost of the assembly. Parents may also want to consider purchasing a jump r
ope for the child’s classroom.
Jump ropes range in price from $7 to$9.
Art Through the Ages to Focus on Expressionism
November’s Art Through the Ages
(ATTA) lesson will
focus on ―Expressionism‖ from 1905
-1930.Volunteer training is Nov. 2 at 9 a.m. The historylesson of the art period will be taught Nov. 7-11. Wewill study WWI, the conflict, have an actual war andthen try to figure out world peace. The art projectasks the questions: If music can make you feel something, then why notart too? Can art make you have feelings?
The art project (3D art: Chagalland Matisse) will be taught Nov. 14-18. We are always looking for morevolunteers to help. If you are interested please contact your room parentor classroom teacher. A special thanks to the many volunteers required tomake this program such a great success each month.
Nov. 17: Reflections Awards Night
Draper Elementary had more than 160 entries
submitted for this year’s Reflections contest.
Aspecial thanks to all who took the time to submit anentry. Students will be honored at the ReflectionsAwards Night on Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m. Entries,except those on CD or DVD, will be on display thatnight. Please plan to join us to see the creativetalents of our students.
