HERAA Meeting Minutes Sunday November 9, 2008 In Attendance: Marjorie Kettell, President Zomana Majid, Vice President Rebecca

I. Meeting between Marjorie and Kenn Douglas a. Spoke regarding the new refrigerators, obtaining a house director, and why freshmen are required to live in a dorm for at least one semester before they can apply to the HER house. b. Marjorie is also curious about what is in the profile used by the Office of Residence Life that determines a students eligibility for the house. Will email Kenn to set up a meeting to discuss these things. II. What does the House need this year? a. A list of helpful donations will be included in the newsletter including: folding chairs, floor lamps, cutting boards, towels b. Marjorie suggested a TV housing unit and a sleeper sofa for the Alumni room c. Rae and Marjorie will be contacting Dick Steele regarding the status of lead paint in the house III. Newsletter update- Rebecca a. Needs editing: Marjories Presidential letter overlaps some information already in the newsletter b. Stephanies Treasurer report had just come in c. How can we thank donors to prevent angry alumni? d. Each member submitted edits to the newsletter IV. Web site update- Zomana a. Took out stale info, added Bostonian article, cleaned up format. b. We would like to add more pictures, as well as a copy of the Lifebook (omitting personal information of alumni), and a folder where we can put up edited versions of our Meeting minutes c. Zomana would also like to give the house a digital camera for the holidays. Research will be done into what kind of camera to purchase. V. Treasurers Report

a. Checks and bills, Stephanie would also like to consider changing our banking system to a more user-friendly service. VI. Dates a. Rae will know by December 1st when Alumnae Tea is being held. She said the house liked the idea of having it on a Saturday and suggested April 4th b. Sunday February 15th will be a Valentines Day Tea. Meeting will be held from 11-12:30, the tea will be from 1-3. New Business: A suggestion was made to send a HER House tote bag as a thank you to donors.
