    IDENTITIES

    1 + cot =cosec

    Sec=1+tan

    cosec=cot+1

    sin

    EXAMPLE Prove the identity:

    a)

    ( cosec + cot )( cosec cot ) = 1

    Answer

    From left= (cosec + cot )(cosec cot )

    = cosec cosec cot + cosec cot cot

    = cosec cot

    =1 (prove)

    Show that sec cos =sin tan

    ANSWER

    Sec cos

    = 1 - cos

    1 - cos = sin = sin sin

    =sin tan
