triangle is ½ base × height.
(c) Explain how you will show that the lowest common factor of 400 and 600
is 200.
3. (a) What are the two new topics in the new primary school

Consider the idea that a triangle can be folded on the dotted lines in either of the ways
in Fig 1 and 2 above. For Fig 1, fold the vertices so that the tips are at a common
point which is the intersection of the bisectors of the angles. As for Fig 2, fold the
vertices so that the tips are on the foot of an altitude.
7. (a) Describe one strategy you could teach your primary pupils
to mentally simplify the following.
(i) 78 0. 5
(ii) 398 × 50.

If not, explain the error in his thinking.
(c) Identify two problems primary school children in Brunei have with
learning mathematics in English and explain how these could be addressed

your thinking.
(b) What is the greatest whole number and what is the least whole number that
when rounded to nearest 1000, round to 20 000. Explain your thinking.
