FRIDRICHS TWO-LOOK METHOD

Hey guys, this is a quick overview for the intermediate method, which does not require the 80 some algorithms for the full OLL and PLL. Its an awesome way to cut your time to sub-30s, without the memorization. However, you will need to know a couple algorithms. But before you get to the heavy stuff, solve the first cross and use some intuitive F2L. There are some algorithms for this, but it certainly isnt hard to figure out. Watch Lances videos on this before using this guide. http://www.youtube.com/user/LanceTheBlueKnight This overview is intended to be a supplement to his amazing video, and a guide for your memorization. Great youre done with that. Now for the last layer. The fun begins. -2redpartyhats

OLL- ORIENTATION OF THE LAST LAYER

FIRST LOOK: ORIENTATE EDGES You know this already. Just use that beginners algorithm to solve a cross on the top layer. SECOND LOOK: ORIENTATE CORNERS Look at the shape, line it up, and use the respective algorithm. Anti-Sune (fish faces upper left): R U R U R U2 R Sune (fish faces bottom left): R U R U R U2 R The Turtle (turtle faces right): F ( R U R U)*3 F The Sumo-Wrestler (head points right): [f (R U R U) f] [F (R U R U) F] or R U2 R2 U R2 U R2 U2 R Headlights (lights points down): R2 D R U2 R D R U2 R Chameleon (cham faces left): (r U R U) (r F R) F Triple-Sune (arrow points to bottom left): F (r U R U) (r F R)

PLL- PERMUTATION OF THE LAST LAYER

FIRST LOOK: PERM CORNERS Take a look and figure out which direction the corners must be pushed to. Corners Clockwise (headlights on upper corners): l U R D2 R U R D2 R2 x Corners Counter (headlights on right corners): x R2 D2 R U R D2 R U R x Corners Cross (line up vertically): x [(R U R) D (R U R)] u2 [(R U R) D (R U R)] SECOND LOOK: PERM EDGES Same thing, figure out which direction the edges must be permed. Edges Clockwise (back edge is solved): R2 U (R U R U) R U R U R Edges Counter (back edge is solved): R U R U R U R U R U R2 Edges Opposite (all need to go across): M2 U M2 U2 M2 U M2 Edges Adjacent (positive slopes): M2 U M2 U M U2 M2 U2 M U2 or U R U R U R U R U R U R U R2 U R U
