Guidance Department Class of 2012- The last semester of high school is upon you! Now is the time to complete any and all scholarship applications that apply to you. All eligible seniors have met with their counselor and completed the BRIGHT FUTURES application online @ www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org. If not, please see your counselor immediately!! All seniors have attended BEACON to learn to complete the FAFSA. You cannot earn the Bright Futures without completing the FAFSA. You need to apply at: www.fafsa.ed.gov.
THE TIME IS NOW!! Registration materials and fee waivers can be picked up in Guidance. If you need to pass the FCAT, use the SAT or ACT instead. If you need a specific test score to earn the Bright Futures, then these are the remaining test dates offered at Fletcher..

High School PTSA is proud to award six (6) scholarships to seniors meeting college entrance requirements. All applicants must be current and active PTSA members. Deadline for joining the PTSA is December 31, 2011. All applicants must write a 150 200 word essay on volunteering and submit verification of actual volunteer service that has been performed through school, church or community organizations. We are interested in the type of service you have been involved in, and how you have grown from these experiences. Applications are available on line at the PTSA web site (fletcherhighptsa.com), or in the Guidance office. Deadline: April 4, 2012. CONTINENTAL SOCIETIES, INC. NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP is to help promote the economic, educational and social welfare of the underserved and disadvantaged children. There are five scholarships awarded to four regional and one national recipient. To be eligible you must be attending college for the first time, be accepted to a four year university, submit a 500 word essay, 3 letters of recommendation and a transcript. Application is in guidance. Deadline: March 10, 2012. THE FLORIDA STRIDERS TRACK CLUB SCHOLARSHIP - offers an award to a runner or senior active in track and field events. I. APPLICATIONS FOUND IN GUIDANCE: FLETCHER PTSA SCHOLARSHIP - The Fletcher

OCEANSIDE ROTARY SCHOLARSHIP offers one or more annually renewable four year scholarships of up to 1,000 per year for a maximum of $4,000. A transcript, counselor recommendation, teacher recommendation and a one page narrative stating your goals, choice of course of study and college and why you should be the recipient

ORDER SONS OF ITALY IN AMERICA, BEACHES LODGE #2821 is awarding a $750 scholarship to a senior of Italian descent. In addition to this scholarship, the National Leadership Grant Competition offers ten to thirteen merit based scholarships ranging from $4,000 to $25,000. JACKSONVILLE BEACHES WOMANS CLUB, INC. is awarding two $2000 scholarships to a female with academic potential and financial need who will be attending an accredited college. DUVAL COUNTY COUNCIL PTA is awarding four scholarships each in the amount of $599 to a senior with a good volunteer ethic. VINSON SCHOLARSHIP is a need based scholarship for seniors who are members or dependents of a member of the Community First Credit Union. You must have a 3.0 gpa, a minimum of 24 ACT or SAT score of 1100 and accepted to a four year college. Deadline: March 1, 2012. Applications are available in Guidance.

NORTHEAST FLORIDA COUNTS - The Change Agent Leadership Scholarship (CALS) is funded and awarded by the Partners* of Northeast Florida Counts. It is a one-year, non-renewable scholarship in the amount of $2,500.00. The student must be a legal resident of Duval county and completing their last year of high school, write a two page essay (see directions on application.) and have three lettes of recommendation from each of the following: 1) A member of the students high school faculty; 2) A community representative; 3) An adult of the students choice. DUVAL ASSOCIATION OF EDUCATIONAL OFFICE PROFESSIONALS SCHOLARSHIP are awarding three scholarships to seniors who are pursuing careers with higher education and seeking financial assistance to achieve this goal.
