Evelyne Mukasonga, who survived the Rwandan genocide only to be imprisoned with her infant son in the Congo, will share her story: From Death to Life Through Forgiveness in DR Congo and Rwanda. Evelyne and her Congolese husband, Through Forgiveness in DR Congo and Rwanda. Francis Kalangala, now residents of Bridgeport, are reconciling Congolese and Rwandan women in Connecticut, creating a model to be shared with women in Africa affected by the atrocities of war. Some of these local women from both groups, who initially shunned one another, will join Evelyne and they will dance together, showing how they

Bridge the Peace.

Steven Berizzi, Professor of History at Norwalk Community College, will provide background on the origins of the war and its continuation.

The community is invited to the program free of charge. Refreshments will be served. There will be an opportunity to be involved in ongoing Peace Bridging efforts.
