good morning!

Friday, March 9, 2012

Hello everyone! Way way back when we all gave our previous presentations, I had set for myself a set of goals, along with a pretty determined idea of what I wanted to have as nal artifacts for this degree project.

the question

In what ways can design be used to educate parents and prepare their children (ages 4-5) for entering kindergarten at a public school?

This is the question that I had posed to myself. In what ways can design be used to educate parents and prepare their children (ages 4-5) for entering kindergarten at a public school?

the research

Friday, March 9, 2012

Back over the winter, I had collected a lot of research to fuel my project with. The rst obstacle I had to overcome was my own stubbornness to cram all of this really good, juicy information into my project.

the research

Friday, March 9, 2012

I sorted through everything, categorized it, and then began to transcribe it all.

the book

Friday, March 9, 2012

Into a book. Here are a couple quick screen grabs of example spreads of the book that I started to make. May it rest in peace. Because, this is where the book ended. During a small group crit a good point was brought up that, well, this was a lot to cover in the amount of time we have. Especially if the book was only HALF of what I wanted to do.

goodbye, for now!

Friday, March 9, 2012

So, the content of the book and all of the raw information Ive been pulling from will nd its new home in the pages of my process book, the one were already required to make. Duh. So with a couple weeks, not lost, but denitely misspent on that project, I moved on to the second part of my original plan.

site mappin

Friday, March 9, 2012

Which was developing an application that served several different functions. Which I have made into a tidy little site map. this might not be everything, this might be more than there is. Ive developed this site map in conjunction with a set of 3 scenarios which I have already roughly scripted out. One thing that I noticed while working on a similar project in MX last semester was, I made all of these screens to go along with the site map, but then didnt end up using nearly all of them for the scenarios. For times sake, I would like to try and avoid that by guring out which screens I need by using the scenarios sort of as scripts.

Please keep this in mind for the sake of getting useful feedback in the time that I have. Wireframes = content, not form. Thanks!

Friday, March 9, 2012

Right now I have one scenario translated digitally. This is a wireframe. It is not designed. So please, give me feedback on the content and not the form. Also, there is a lot of tapping, which, for the sake of time I am going to BLAST through. I know its fast.
