Brand WIELTON

The WIELTON brand originated in 1990 when second-hand semi-trailers
began to be imported from Western Europe, mainly from Germany, the
Netherlands and France. Since these products did not meet the customers
expectations due to limited loading capacity, difficulties in obtaining the
approval for use in international transportation and low aesthetic value, the
company decided to seize the opportunity to start a new business and began
modernising semi-trailers. The second-hand semi-trailers underwent a major
overhaul which included: lengthening, sand blast cleaning, painting, repair of
the electrical, pneumatic and driving system and, if necessary, assembly of
new semi-trailer bodies. Such upgraded semi-trailers were sold on the Polish
market.
Throughout this period, the employees were learning about the successive
stages and methods of semi-trailer production, and acquired an extensive
theoretical and practical knowledge. Their work resulted in manufacturing
the first entirely new semi-trailer of the SAM brand which left the factory in
1995.















The second-hand semi-trailers were modernised and new ones were originally
manufactured in makeshift conditions, in a specially adapted production hall at
the former Ldz Furniture Factory, located at 8, Fabryczna Street in Wielun. In
order to conform to international quality standards and improve the working
conditions, the hall was extended and equipped with high-tech machinery
whereas the production process cycle was determined on the basis of the
experiences of the largest suppliers of semi-trailer production technologies
from Western Europe and the United States. The high quality of the products
and production process was confirmed by the acquisition of the ISO 9001
certificate on 24 October 2000.

In connection with the dynamic sales growth, it was necessary to create a
new production line in order to keep production capacity at the high level.
Another important stage in the companys development was the building of
Factory No. 2, located at 10a, Baranowskiego Street in Wielun, where the final
assembly takes place.

The finished product undergoes a meticulous technical and quality
inspection, carried out in accordance with the ISO standard procedures.
Following the quality acceptance, each product is transferred for inspection
to the diagnostic station seated in Wielun, where an independent diagnostic
expert inspects the driving, brake and electrical system as well as the
compliance with regulations approving the product for road use. The thus
tested product is then transported to one of the twelve exhibition squares in
Poland and abroad.



Since October 2003, the owner of the WIELTON brand has been WIELTON
Trading seated in Wielun which manages the production and sales of the
products. The firm has a distribution network made up of 9 branches in Poland
(in Warszawa, Rzgw near Ldz, WrocIaw, Gdansk, Szczecin, Widoradz near
Wielun, Katowice, Poznan, Rybnik and Krakw) and regional representatives
in Lublin, BiaIystok, Olsztyn and Bydgoszcz as well as successful business
establishments in Russia, Estonia, Lithuania, Ukraine and Latvia.

The WIELTON brand is distinguished among its competitors by the quality of
the entire production process, a distribution network that is close to the client
and the appearance of the product itself as well as access to warranty and
post-warranty service. Technical solutions used by the competition from the
European Union to improve the operational properties are no longer an
unattainable ideal because similar solutions are applied in WIELTON products.
In the case of certain products, the competition lags behind.

WIELTON S.A. is not only a producer but also a major employer which employs
460 persons. Human resources are considered the most important in the
company. Therefore, significant funds are spent each year on improving the
qualifications of the personnel through various trainings.

Currently WIELTON is the largest Polish manufacturer of semi-trailers,
with an almost 22% share of the market. Its products are innovative,
high quality and reliable thanks to the company's own design
solutions and the use of components of the world-best brands in the
assembly.

ISO Certificate

In order to assure the customers of the high quality of the offered products,
the necessary steps were taken to obtain the ISO certificate, which was
granted to it in 2000 and which is a proof that the Company has introduced
and applies the quality assurance system according to PN EN ISO 9001 : 2001
standards.

Export


An important direction of our company development is export. For the first
time WIELTON sold its products on the export markets in the year 1999.
Sweden was the first foreign market. To succeed within such a demanding
market the chassis construction was redesigned stronger and the construction
of the front wall was completely redesigned so that it would meet Swedish
safety standards. Special attention was paid to the quality of paint coatings
and protection of pneumatic and electric installations. The products sold on
the Swedish market have favourably undergone demanding strength tests and
have received the official Swedish certification. The sale share to Sweden
made up about 35% export wholesale in year 2000.
The next markets, which WIELTON won, were Dutch and Belgian markets. To
sell on these markets the local official certification PVG is required. Platform-,
curtain- and container transport semi-trailers as well as trailers and BDF
produced by WIELTON already have this certification.

In connection with such a favourable development in export sales in years
1999 and 2000, WIELTON participated, in September 2000, in one of the most
important European fairs of transport: the International Motor Show of
Commercial Vehicles in Frankfurt am Main. The presence in the fair established
many new trade contacts.

Year 2001 brought marked changes in the export directions. A significant part
of the Companys output was sold on East European markets: in Russia,
Lithuania and Latvia. Year 2002 saw the Companys further expansion to the
East European markets, where almost 70% of WIELTON exports were sold.
Because of the great appeal of those markets, in 2002 WIELTON took steps to
open its commercial branches there. Currently WIELTON has its sales outlets in
Russia, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia.

WIELTON can face competition on the most demanding markets, the evidence
of which is the fact that a German customer has also declared his interest in
the Wielun Company and wants to be WIELTON distributor on the German
market. He has bought two curtain mega semi-trailers and two closed box
semi-trailers, but the target is the sale of a few dozen semi-trailers. The
German customer has already placed further orders for central axle trailers,
container transport semi-trailers, semi-trailer bodies as well as curtainsiders
and canvas troughs for coils transport.

well made and offered at attractive prices!
