Clicking on the lollipop links takes you to the different sections. Lets have a quick look round, especially at the Rating section. We will also delve into the Learn section and see where the Newsletters are kept. All Premium members are given a FIDE Student Rating. Thats a good start, but a rating that remains the same is not very interesting. The exciting bit is seeing it grow. Rating increases come from the education bonus (+5 rating points per month) and from playing games, especially against other rated players. But every single game result that is entered into the system gains an activity bonus of 1 rating point. This is what you might see:

Select u12 and younger from the dropdown list, keep All so that we have both boys and girls, and we will leave All countries selected (of course, you can choose to see where you stand just in your own country), click submit and... you will see a list of all the players in that age range ranked by rating:

Our Premium members will receive at least three chess books this year, books that are only available to our members. Planet Chess, in the Learn section, is a complete introduction to the game and can be found on the Premium web site. The fortnightly newsletter articles on Chess Strategy, by GM & FST Grivas and the Simple Idea series by FST OConnell will build, during the year, into books that are especially useful for players rated 600-1600.
