GXCC STARTER GUIDE

WELCOME
Welcome to off-road racing!

This is a highly addictive sport, but we can assure you that you
will have loads of fun.

The purpose of this document is to assist newcomers, both

professionals and amateurs, with all the information you need to
start competing in the GXCC Series.
WHO ARE WE?
GXCC is the Gauteng Xross Country Club and it is owned by Wian du Plessis, who
is the club’s Route Director, and his wife, Miranda du Plessis, who is the Club &
Event Secretary. Our head office is situated in Centurion.

The club is affiliated to Motorsport South Africa (MSA), who is the governing body
of all motorsport in South Africa. All events hosted by GXCC are sanctioned by
MSA and are held under their rules and regulations.

All GXCC events are combined club and regional events. This means that you race
only once but can be scored in both the GXCC Club Championship and the
Northern Regions Championship.

A portion of your licence payment to MSA is allocated to personal

injury cover. Should you get injured at any of our events, you will
be able to claim against the policy for your medical expenses.
2020 MSA Annual Cross Country Licence Fees
Base Cost R50,000 cover R150,000 cover R250,000 cover R500,000 cover
Club Licence R610.00 R480.00 R610.00 R1,160.00 R2,690.00
Regional Licence R1,250.00 R1,075.00 R1,260.00 R1,825.00 R3,200.00
National Licence R1,800.00 R1,075.00 R1,260.00 R1,825.00 R3,200.00

How to calculate your annual license fee

To compete in the GXCC championship only, you will need a CLUB LICENCE
To compete in the GXCC championship and Northern Regions championship, you will need a REGIONAL LICENCE
To compete in the GXCC championship and Northern Regions championship and you would also like to compete in National
Off-Road event, you will need a NATIONAL LICENCE

To calculate your annual licence fee, choose the type of licence you want to take out (Club/Regional/National)
Take the base cost and add the amount of cover that you would like to take out

For example: If you take out a regional licence with R250,000 cover the cost of your licence will be as follows:
R1,250.00 (base cost) + R1,825.00 (personal injury cover) = R3,075,00 (annual licence fees)

** Day licences are also available. The cost of a day licence depends on the class you enter and the amount of cover you take **
