Applications Reduce downhole torque resulting from wellbore spiraling and doglegs Medium to severe packed hole assembly designs typically require a Borrox AP Reamer to be placed directly above the bit to provide reaming ahead of the stabilization. A reamer is not an effective stabilizer and should always be followed, in this application, by full gauge stabilization Mild packed hole assemblies can be designed using the Borrox AP Reamer as the first zone of stabilization. In extremely abrasive drilling conditions, an additional reamer should be considered Service and Support Optimum placement in the BHA is a critical component of any reamer application. A Smith Services representative should always be consulted on the placement of your Borrox AP Reamer. Proprietary software can be used to analyze and predict the tendencies of a particular assembly to ensure that the drilling objectives are achieved. The Borrox AP Reamer offers multiple cutting structure options, reliability, rig site serviceability and a reputation for maintaining hole gauge in extreme conditions. Call a Smith Services representative today to find out how the Borrox AP Reamer can add value to your drilling operation.

Safe and Easy Cutter Extraction and Installation The Borrox AP Reamers cutter assemblies can be safely and easily changed at the rig site. A custom service kit, included with the Borrox AP Reamer, contains cutter installation and extraction tools as well as the other general hand tools required. A precision gauge, included with the service kit, allows the cutter pockets to be dimensionally checked prior to the installation of a new cutter assembly.

Features and Benefits Large diameter, carburized and hardened pins serve as robust abrasion-resistant bearing sections. True rolling reamer cutters offer two cutting structure options. The Type Q cutter achieves maximum reaming action in medium to hard formations where crushing action against the formation is preferred. Hardfaced, carburized steel teeth ground to gauge provide a wear-resistant reaming structure. Knobby cutters use tungsten carbide inserts to fracture the rock, and are recommended for use in hard formations.
Applications Standard runs using milled tooth rock bits, drilling surface hole and shallow wells High temperature conditions High rotary speed applications for the Model 60 due to its large bearing area and open circulation
Spiral body design to facilitate high circulation rates and the efficient transport of cuttings past the tool Tapered body profile for reaming capability both downward and upward No moving parts to wear or fail downhole
Applications The DEI Reamer contains no moving or sealed components and is not affected by hot hole conditions. It can be placed at any point in the BHA. The reamer removes ledges and opens any under gauge portions of the build section in directional applications. Key seats can be effectively removed using DEI Reamer(s).
