    WHAT HAPPENS WHEN

Together these tactics demonstrate how religious extremists are working to exclude women from the public sphere. And such treatment doesnt stop with women. Immigrants, refugees and Arab citizens of Israel face routine discrimination. Hardliners try to silence civil rights organizations. Israel may be changing into a place many of us would no longer recognize.

    Israel is not made stronger by making its democracy weaker. Israels strength depends on its democratic values. Equal rights and the
    rule of law advance Israeli democracy and maintain its standing at a time when international support is so critically important. Israel must never abandon the Jewish commitment to freedom and social justice.
