ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Rachel Rambach, MM, MT-BC, is a board-certified music therapist. She has a bachelor's degree in voice performance from Rollins College, and a master's degree in music therapy from Illinois State University. Rachel completed her professional internship with Midwest Music Therapy Services in St. Louis, MO, where she specialized in work with students who have special needs. She works in private practice and is currently employed as music therapist at the Hope Institute, a residential school for children with multiple disabilities. In addition to her music therapy work, Rachel teaches voice, guitar, and piano lessons to children, and she is on the childrens music staff at Laurel United Methodist Church. Rachel lives in Springfield, IL with her husband, Zach.

ABOUT THIS SERIES

When I began my career as a music therapist, I quickly found that it is difficult to come by materials specifically designed for music therapy work with children. I started writing my own songs, and over time amassed an entire collection. Teachers and parents started requesting CDs of my songs for use with their students and children, which led to me creating the Listen & Learn series. The visual aides in this book are bright and colorful, and the basic structure of each song is the same. Counting to ten has never been so much fun! The reason this series works is that children enjoy listening to and singing these songs. You, as the teacher or parent, can participate as well to encourage interaction.
