    COAL HANDLING PLANT

    The main working of coal handling plant(CHP) is to receive coal from coal mines or from the mining agents, weighing of coal, crushing it to required size and transferring the quanta of coal to various coal mill bunkers. So we can say that CHP performs mainly three works:-

    Coal collection Coal crushing consequent milling

    In ABHIJEET TPS the structure and working of CHP is as follows: Coal Collection:The coal comes from various coal mines by trucks. Normally average size of the coal is 250mm. The area where we store the coal is called as COAL YARD. After receiving the coal following task has been performed: WEIGHING :- The coal is weighted with trucks. This is performed to check the quantity of coal what we have ordered and what we received. SAMPLING :- A small amount of coal is send to the chemical lab to calculate the calorific value and various other parameters.70% of the cost consumption of a thermal power plant is of coal so its quality must be checked properly. STORING:- The coal is stored in different heaps according to their size calorific value.This is done to mix up the coal in a certain proportion to achieve the desired calorific value.

    Coal crushing:-

    After collecting the coal it is processed for crushing. In crushing process the task is performed in following ways:-

    Coal The coal is send to the tunnel through a hopper of size Tunnel

    Rod gate It decide the amount of coal allowed to pass for MRPG.

    MRPG-1/MRPG-2

    Motorized Rock And Pmion Gate.

    VF-1/VF-2 to make it

    Vibro Fedder. It is used to vibrate the coal forward to the BC

    RBC-1(Reverse Belt Conveyor) A motor of rating 18.5 kw is used in this belt. BC-2A Break Motor.( Hydraulic Break Motor) In this a motor of 20 kw is used. This is called as
