Do plant sweat??
Rate of transpiration
Enhance
Scientific concept
1. Transpiration is evaporation of water into the atmosphere from the leaves and stems of plants.
2. Some environmental conditions create the driving force for movement of water out of the plant. Others alter the plants ability to control water loss. 3. Temperature greatly influences the magnitude of the driving force for water movement out of a plant rather than having a direct effect on stomata. 4. As temperature increases, the water holding capacity of that air increases sharply. 5. Warmer air holds more water, creating large driving force for water movement out of the plant, thus causing increase of rate of transpiration.
Engage
When a plant is left for 3 days without water, the plant wilt. Why do you think this happen?

Enhance
How does desert plant adapted to dry conditions found in arid environment?
Enhance
1. Reduction of leaves- often into spines for protection. The flat surface of normal leaves provides a huge area for water loss.
2. Coating the plant with a thick waxy cuticle. This helps reduce water loss. 3. A dense coating of hairs (trichomes). This slows air moving over the surface of the plant; since air in the desert is very dry any air movement tends to increase evaporation. The trichomes create a microlayer of humid air around the pant, particularly in the vicinity of the stomata.
More than one sensor can be used at the same time -Two temperature sensor
We can set the time for the experiment to run. For this experiment, we run the experiment for 10 minutes.
