MEMORANDUM To: From: Subject: Members of the Board of Education Joshua P. Starr, Superintendent of Schools Winston Churchill High SchoolRequest for School Booster Club to Fund Upgraded Stadium Scoreboard

WHEREAS, On March 30, 2012, Winston Churchill High School submitted a Facility Project Request to the director of the Department of Facilities Management, requesting an upgrade of the stadium scoreboard, to be funded by the Winston Churchill High School Booster Club; and WHEREAS, The cost of the project is estimated to be approximately $80,000, to include engineering required by the Department of Facilities Management, scoreboard installation, and associated wiring; and WHEREAS, The director of the Department of Facilities Management has reviewed this request for compliance with Board of Education Policy CNE, Facility Improvements That Are Not Funded With Montgomery County Revenues, and finds that it complies with the criteria for acceptable contributions established in the policy; and WHEREAS, The Winston Churchill High School Booster Club has a balance of existing funds, which will finance the project; and WHEREAS, Similar types of requests have been granted previously; now therefore be it Resolved, That the Montgomery County Board of Education approves the request of Winston Churchill High School to accept an upgraded stadium scoreboard from the Winston Churchill High School Booster Club.
