Venetian Suite

Venetian Suite is a study of sequence and structure in Venice, Italy. Each of four books begins with an idea about streetscape, vernacular and urban environment (77 palazzi, 39 doorbells…) but yields expansive, poetic results. The project is an attempt to produce spacious and transportive work from a simple methodology based in discipline and sequence. My faith in the book form stems from my interest in disruptive narrative and the user as co- creator and author of the work — the book as a slippery object that suggests specificity, but yields expansive, interpretive results for the viewer/user. http://soulellis.com/projects/venetian-suite/
