Off-line A supermarket using LAN with 10 cashiers.

One day the server down, cashiers cannot work, customers already line up, what should you do? POSX has solution. POSX has off-line feature, all the cashiers are connected by LAN. If server down, cashiers still work as usual. If server on, the sale data will be updated to the server, nothing missing. Both server and cashiers are connected. If there are new items, enter them at server, program will distribute it to all cashiers. On the other hand, cashierss sale will update to server. So you dont have to worry if the server goes down. The supermarket will keep running well, and you still have complete data. To run off-line: Install both server.exe (MySQL) and setup.exe (POSX) to all computers Server -> Cashier Enter any new item in server, then distribute it to cashiers Cashier -> Server Transfer POS Sale to server At server, you have this icon:

At cashier, you have this icon::

The setting is at System Setup -> Off-line There are 3 options: Server: if this is server Client : if this is cashier N/A : if you decided not to use off-line

At cashier : Client ID Transfer POS Sale to: Update Stock from

eg. POS01, POS02 eg. c:\offline, this folder should be shared read/write eg. \\server\offline

At server: Update POS from Send Stock data to

eg. \\cashier01\offline (up to 40 cashiers) eg. c:\offline, this folder should be shared

At cashier, click Update Stock to update new item from server Upon exit, program will auto send the POS Sale and remove the sale records from cashiers.

At server, click Update POS to update the POS sale from cashiers

Procedure : First time : Install both server dan cashiers with server.exe (MySQL) and setup.exe (POSX) ODBC : localhost At server: Enter stock data When exit, program will send the stock data to folder At cashier: Click Update Stock to update the stock data. Run System Setup, because the update does not include the setting Importance: set POS location (Utility -> System Setup -> POS) Each cashier can have difference setting, eg. Cashier #1 has pole display, Cashier #2 doesnt has pole display.

Daily: ps. At cashier: Click Update Stock to update the data stock At server: At the end of the day, click Update POS to update the POS sale New stock codes should be entered at server. Cashiers are not allowed to create stock code, because it wont be recognized by server.
