Daniel DeKoter

Qualifications and Achievments


Daniel DeKoter completed his high school education at Maurice-Orange City High School in 1973. He was also a 2-time Iowa High School Athletic Association State Track Meet gold medalist in fourth leg or anchor leg race, on the 440 yard and 880 yard relays. He attended Northwestern College in Orange City for one year, and then enrolled at the Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan to receive a degree in Philosophy and a minor in English in 1977.

Daniel DeKoter went to the University of Iowa Law School for the completion of his Juris Doctorate degree and graduated in top twenty percent of his law school class. In June of 1980, he passed the Iowa bar examination and started working with Corcoran, Skiver and Zito law firm in Sibley as an attorney. Since then, he has been working with the firm (today known as DeKoter, Thole & Dawson). Amassed valuable knowledge and experience in general practice, emphasizing personal injury and product liability litigation, business litigation, business law in general and estate planning, wills and trusts.

He also has proven track record of representing both defendants and plaintiffs in personal injury litigation cases, such as motor vehicle injuries, defective product injuries, farm injuries, and diving cases.
