TEACHING OF EXPERIENCE 2004-2006: Latin Coalition-teacher: January-May Sterling Elementary 9601 China Grove Church Road. Supervisor Ruth Hood; (980-343-3636). Work with Hispanic students, K-5 and all ability levels, to improve success in school through instruction in reading, writing, math, and study skills and through boosting self-confidence. 1999-present: Substitute: K-5 Sterling Elementary 9601 China Grove Church Road. Responsible for implementing plans left by teacher or administrational staff. 1984-present: Work Done as a regular assistant and an EC assistant: Used centers for math, science, social studies, and writing to complement the child-based hands-on curriculum. Follow positive discipline plan which promoted student responsibility, problem solving skills, and student accountability. Work with a program in technology called, Renaissance Place. A reading program that encourages student to read for understanding. It keeps reports of progress. Implemented phonics instruction with small groups. Worked in the Technology Lab Lessons involved cooperative learning, language experience approach, handson/minds-on experiences, and language for learning. EDUCATION 2000-2003 CPCC Community College-Studying Educational Concepts 2006-to present: Currently pursuing a B.S. in Elementary Education (ElementaryK-6) at Belmont Abbey College.
