This assignment will enable you to examine and analyse how human resource management theory is put into practice in organisations. Thoroughly investigate one of the following topic areas and discuss in relation to Human Resource Management. Topic 1: Global shifts in the supply and demand for labour mean that organisations need to focus more heavily on attraction, retention and career development of staff in order to meet these challenges- Discuss. Topic 2: Work-life balance is just a slogan. Most employees would prefer to be at work in a fulltime job, rather than spending more time with their families - Discuss. You should draw on real-life work situations, research evidence and relevant HRM literature beyond your text book to substantiate and illuminate your viewpoints.
