TITLE AND ABSTRACT

Title Abstract THE DIGITAL PROTOTYPING IN THE DENTAL IMPLANTS OPTIMIZATION The using of automating software of the process is the modern solution for the pieces production. Thus, the design and production process are better controlled. Also a vision of the entire piece on desired angle can be obtained. The located cuts can be simulated for observation of dimensional details. This 3D computer view of technical drawings is obtained through commercial software known as CAD. In

the CAD stage the components are modeled and the simulations are implemented in stage CAE. Then, the stresses, strains and structural analysis are viewed with the using of the finite element method (FEM). The better prepare of the mechanical engineering graduate students for the industrial reality, the techniques described previously (CAD and CAE) were applied in the scientific initiation projects in the dental prostheses area. The dental prostheses models were made in resine. They were scanned, with the using of a 3D scanner. Then, a specific software was used to treat the surface imported of the images of 3D models obtained by 3D scanner. In these processes was used a CAD standard software and simulations occurred with the using of a finite element method software (FEM). This study evaluated the influence of the cortical bone thickness in the stress distribution for several loading in the dentistry implant. Students performed simulations with 3 different cortical bone thicknesses. For each thicknesse were applied, axial and oblique loading, then the results were compared. The project in question allowed scientific initiation students are having contact with high technologies of software and of hardware, The students obtained an improvement their knowledge in CAD modeling line and CAE simulation line.
