Desert Monsoon

By: Triston Horton 8/1/12

Days march onward perpetually plain Sun illuminating the sky in an everlasting reign Habitual tendencies ensure no cloud goes unseen Unfamiliar hues of gray radiate something pristine Hanging pools of blue leaves one to doubt Not nearly enough to relieve the scouts Air made coarse with ever fine dust Rarely concering ourselves with the dangers of rust Trees sway in the harmonious dance Household pets leave nothing to chance Crackling whips rattle thunderous boasts Vicarious winds only original to coasts Baked asphalt births a looming steam Gifts from above permit life to teem Glass panes can't help but ooze Taunt the lightning with nothing to lose Drops to dissolve one's intrinsic pain Forge your shelters; here come the rain
