Objective of the course: To become familiar with computers and computer science. After successful completion of this course the students will have some fundamental knowledge of computer science like the uses and characteristics of computer, data manipulation, algorithm, hardware and software realization. This course has a lab session where students will implement newly learned concept using a high level programming language C. Textbook: 1. An invitation to Computer Science By Schneider & Gresting 2. Other materials supplied by instructor. 3. C Complete Reference by Herbert Schildt. Marks distribution: 1. Assignment Pop Quiz 2. Quizzes 3. Midterm 4. Final 40% 5. Class performance 10% 15% 30% 05%

Notice: There will be 2-3 Quizzes. You will be given several written assignments which you have to submit within due dates. Assignments submitted after the due dates but within next week will be given 80% credit There will be absolutely no make up for quizzes and midterms.
