In the Eyes of Quran  Hazrat Hussain besides being a member of the Prophet’s Ahl-e-bayt, was also a Sahabi, therefore wherever the Quran has praised the Sahaba in over more than 700 ayats, Hazrat Hussain also comes in that mention of praise. In the Eyes of the Holy Prophet (PBUH)  “Hassan and Hussain are the flowers of this life and the Here-After” (Riyaz AnNazra)  Hassan and Hussain are the leaders of the youngsters in paradise (Mishkat Sharif) In the Eyes of the Sahaba  ‘Hussain is the son of Ali, but resembles the Prophet’- Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq R.A.  Hazrat Hussain wed his daughter Sakina to Zaid bin Amr bin Uthman, grandson of Hazrat Uthman - Tabaqat Ibn Saad In the Eyes of the Ulema  Nevertheless victory was Hazrat Hussain’s and the crown of glory rested on his injured head. He writhed and in mud and blood he was covered, but the drops of his blood which flowed from his wounds built up the tides of revolution and anarchy Maulana Abul Kalam Azad  Hussain has laid the groundwork for revolt....but against whom? Against Truth and Falsehood, against justice and injustice, against modesty and immodesty, against saying the truth and hiding the truth.....Hussain wanted to prove that truth and falsehood can never be united – Maulana Haq Nawaz Jhangvi In the Eyes of the Non-Muslims  In a distant age and climate, the tragic scene of the death of Hussain will awaken the sympathy of the coldest reader (Edward Gibbon, The decline and fall of the Roman Empire)  If Hussain had fought to quench his worldly desires....then I do not understand why his sister, wife and children accompanied him. It stands to reason therefore, that he sacrificed purely for Islam (Charles Dickens)
