Following is the Theorem 3.1 in Acta Math Sinica communicated paper. Theorem 3.1.

Let (0, 1/2], and a, b 1 satisfy (a)k (b)k 0 for k 2. If c ab, then z 2 F1 (a, b; c; z) is starlike of order (1 2)/(1 ). Example 0.1. For = 1/3, a = b = 1 and c = 3, verify z 2 F1 (1, 1; 3; z) = z + z 2 /3 is starlike of order 1/2. Verication: Let f (z) = z + z 2 /3 , then Re z + 2 z2 zf (z) 3 = Re f (z) z + 1 z2 3 1 + 2z 3 = Re 1 + 1z 3 1 > 1

This follows from: For w(z) = Rew =

1+A 1+B 1A 1B

ifB > A ifB < A.
