Importance of project management in energy production A project manager is an individual charged with the overall execution of a proje ct or design.

Their responsibilities generally include planning the design and c ommunicating with the rest of the team. Thus make sure everyone is doing their j ob and the project is going at maximum efficiency. The constraints that a projec t manager has to deal with traditionally are scope, time and cost. However more recently (and growing in importance) things such as sustainability and enviromen tally friendly designs have become limiting factors for most new projects. Product managers have to ensure that their product is high quality and low in co st. Proper use of product management allows engineers in the laboratory to meet the needs of the consumer through good communication. In energy production proje ct managers must find the balance between quality and cost. Efficiency does not necessarily mean the most efficient fuel but the most efficient for a certain pr oduction cost. Engineers are striving to make more efficient, low cost and susta inable energy and project management provides the link to the engineers and the reality of the market demands.
